I first met Dawn-Marie and Neil at the TN15 Wedding Fayre hosted by The Bull Hotel in Wrotham last April, they were getting married at the St Julians Club in Sevenoaks the following April. After discussing their day they decided they would like to book me for their wedding photography with my ceremony only package which is a couple of hours to ensure the ceremony is covered and I get a few family and couple shots after the ceremony.
I met up with Neil at St Julians a few months before the wedding so he could show me around and go through a couple of the shots, I always try and do this before a wedding especially with local venues as it gives me a good idea of what I will be able to shoot on the day.
On the day as I drove in to the venue I noticed the woodland by the entrance was covered in bluebells and was very keen to get them both back up to this area for some shots later, luckily when I arrived at St Julians the wedding co-ordintator mentioned that they were both keen to get up there as well. Before the ceremony began I captured a few shots of guests mingling, little table details and the beautiful wedding cake which was made by Dawn-Marie’s best friend’s mum.
Dawn-Marie arrived in a blue Rolls Royce and looked stunning in her dress made by seamstress Andrea Kerry. She had a beautiful bouquet which was made by Broadview Florists based in Hadlow. The ceremony which took place in The Gallery and has stunning views across the valley was a nice informal ceremony with lots of laughter and Dawn-Marie and Neil’s little girl determined not to be left out. After the ceremony we moved in to the The Lounge and Conservatory where they were congratulated by their guests and a small speech was given by one of their friends. Afterwards we moved on to the terrace and lawn for some informal and some more formal shots before I was able to take them off to the wooded area for some stunning shots amongst the bluebells. We managed to get a lot in for the few hours they booked me and I was more than happy to do a little bit extra for them. Whilst we were off getting shots the guests were entertained by Odette, a fantastic solo guitarist who I have now added to my list of recommended suppliers.
After the wedding they decided that they would like to order an album and a couple of canvas prints from me which I was more than happy to supply to them.
Dawn-Marie and Neil had these kind words:
‘It was a pleasure to work with Simon throughout the entire process. He made us feel comfortable and relaxed and brought the best out of our guests; taking some lovely natural photographs as well as the more traditional poses. We were delighted with our photos and look forward to treasuring our album. Simon was reliable and prompt and always happy to answer our queries. He also went the extra mile on the day to get the best photos and was happy to trek through bluebell woods to achieve this. We were delighted with the outcome and would not hesitate to use him again for other occasions’
